SSL Protocol Preferences in Wireshark 3.0

  • retag add tags

I've just been trying to follow https://redflagsecurity.net/2019/03/1... and in it it basically says "go edit the SSL protocol preferences". However, in Wireshark 3.0 SSL does not appear as a protocol in the preferences page. I've just downloaded Wireshark v2.6.7 and it's where the above page says it should be.

Have the SSL preferences moved under Wireshark 3.0?

Try looking under TLS.

As no-one should actually be using SSL these days (too insecure), we've renamed it to reflect current usage, which to be fair the article you reference does also do, consistently calling it TLS.

Note that the env. var SSLKEYLOGFILE still uses the old name, that's up to the browser folks to change.
