installation stalls on vcredist_x64.exe

I have been trying to install Wireshark and it seems to stall at vcredist_x64.exe. It just sits there. I have run it just like it comes and in compatibility mode windows 7. I have tried wireshark version 2.4.10 and 2.6.4.

My machines is 64 bit Windows 10 Installed WinPcap_4.1.3 Installed Visual C++ redistributable versions 2012, 2010 (already installed)

What is going on? Is there something I am missing?

For 2.6.4, you can try downloading the VS 2017 runtime installer from MS (here) and installing that standalone first. Ensure you choose the correct bitness of the library for the bitness of Wireshark you're trying to install

I rebooted and for some reason Dell Backup and Restore popped up. I don't use it so I uninstalled it, rebooted, installed the WinPcap4.1.3 from the Internet first and then tried to install Wiresharek and it worked. I am now up and running. Thanks so much.
