very tiny text

  • retag add tags

Started this program for the first time. On a 55" monitor the text measures less than 3/64 ". Is this an error of the application? If not, how can the text be made larger so it can be read without using a magnifying glass?

The OS you're using would help.

Works fine for me on a 4k 43" monitor on Windows 10 with the Wireshark preferences font set to "Consolas 10.0"

Oh h. Thanks. I was using Windows 10 but I checked on PCLinux and it's the same tiny text.

Oh hello. Thanks. That does change the font size for the output of a stream capture. But I couldn't adjust the size of the text for the program UI itself. Menu items like Edit, Capture, Analyze or Tools etc. are hard to see. I can see and read them but I have to get real close to the monitor.

What version of Wireshark are you using? On Windows, the size of the Menu items are controlled by the windows scaling settings. If you go to System->Display, under Scale & Layout, what scaling percentage is being used? Note that this setting should affect all applications. Do other applications have small text?

Yes. The scaling in Windows is for all applications but I hate to use it at a scaling different than the one recommended. On the application I changed the font size and I can see streams very well. The fonts in the application's menu aren't affected by that setting. I was hoping there was a setting for that. I worked around it. Like changing the scaling on Windows. If anything I get up close to the monitor. This problem is not much of a problem. I'm just curious. Thank you.
