Wireshark 2 cannot decode RTCP

  • retag add tags

I have found a lot of instructions to decode RTCP, but they do not work. I suppose that they are meant for wireshark 1 Is it possible to decode RTCP with wireshark 2, or is it better to install wireshark 1?

Edit: Installing the lastest version version 2 helped. Default Ubuntu couldn't decode properly.

It would be helpful if you could point to some of these instructions, so we can see what they amount to. Also a sample capture file (via some file sharing site) would be helpful to see what captured data you're dealing with.

RTCP is supported and decoded with Wireshark 2. Make sure you have the protocol enabled for UDP transport.

From within Wireshark, navigate to... ANALYZE >> ENABLED PROTOCOLS

Ensure RTCP and rtcp_udp are checked.
