Enable/disable LLDP Windows 10

  • retag add tags

Hello,

I'm monitoring a TCP conversation between two PLC's. I'm using:

[ PLC1 ]------[ Manageable switch with port forwarding (DLINK DGS-1100-05) ]------[ PLC2]

On the mirroring port, I connect with:

  • Wireshark 3.4.3 running on
  • Windows 10 Entreprise LTSC 2019 hosted on
  • VMware Workstation

For academic purposes, I'm wondering about the LLDP packets that show up, and are not part of the TCP conversation. THe LLDP packets are issued by the VMware Ethernet adapter it seems. I'm wondering at what level it is implemented and if it is possible to thinker with it:

  • Enable/disable it
  • Configure it (transmit only, receive only, both)
  • Display informations...

Any help/information is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I suggest you delve into intensics of VMware WorkStation. Not a real Wireshark question I guess. I expect you get better results on a VMware forum.
