HOW do I use this? What can it do? How do I read/make sense of its output?

All I've learned to do so far is to double click wifi and I see a page that updates automaticlly showing me network traffic? I see my IP and MAC every now and then. So many words and number and I have no clue what they are. And thats just the first box. Theres two boxes underneath with more information, the second tries to explain what line/packet? I highlight in the first. Still, not much in that section makes any sense to me. I know Im a noob to all this, but my interest is strong and hope to really get it down pat. This is my first step in that direction. Thank you.

Try clicking the middle picture on the Wireshark titled "Learn" which leads to this page full of resources.

Maybe start with the Wireshark Users Guide, which tells you about the Wireshark application, but to understand the info it's presenting you will have to use other resources to learn about networking in general.

I agree with Grahamb, and strongly recommend the sharkfest presentations from YouTube. Just search for SharkFest Wireshark Developer and User Conference. Those will give you the fundamentals of wireshark, and a basic understanding of tcp.
