missing file on Vista install V2.4.5

  • retag add tags

api-ms-win-crt-runtime-|1-1-0.dll missing right at the start of the Wireshark application. If this is a Microsoft file,(with a very strange symbol of '|' in the name) how do I get it and install it?

Thanks

This is part of the Universal C runtime and appears to be missing from your system.

Normally this is installed via Windows Updates, but presumably these are no longer working for your OS as it's out of support. MS has a page where you can download the package here, but I suspect it will have pre-requisites that may also be missing from your system.

For Vista, it requires Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista and for Windows Server 2008.
