How to get packet loss average

I need to know when the network is not working properly and generate a report with this data, so I think with packet loss average I can do this, any suggestion to achieve this or another method? Thanks.

Hi,

Wireshark is probably not the tool you are looking for.

You could set up a capture point on your network and then use Wireshark to calculate how many packets were lost but that would be time consuming and not efficient.

I think you should look at building your reports using the interface counters from the routers and switches in your network. (SNMP is one way to query those counters but this is outside the scope of this forum.)

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

JFD
