No wireless interfaces listed
I just install wire shark on linux mint. When I start wire shark no wireless interfaces are listed.

The answer is to NOT run Wireshark as root, but to correctly configure your system. The Wiki page on Capture Privileges has some general info, for Mint specifically, as it's a Debian based distribution, the instructions for Debian should likely suffice.

There is a package you can install that fixes that , but I just throw all caution to the wind and run sudo wireshark
