Why do I need Cygwin to build Wireshark on Linux?

I'm trying to build Wireshark for my Ubuntu system and cmake asks for cygwin. Before I build that to build Wireshark I'd love to know what I need that for...

There's something messed up there. Can you redirect the output of the CMake generation step to a text file and post that file on a public share somewhere?
