WS captures no packets from Enet tap

Have spent hours reading docs about WS, but still must be missing something. Built a tap (https://www.enigmacurry.com/category/...) and placed it in an Enet link that is known to carry packets with VoIP--the tap is next to an IP phone that communicates with another IP phone. Have enabled all protocols on capture with a 'net 192.168.1.0/24' filter and not applied any filter on display.
Would appreciate a pointer to a doc or FAQ that might explain why no packets are captured on the notebook whose eth0 is plugged into the tap. Running openSuse on HP Omen notebook. Thank you.
