What is your OS? Is it up to date with Windows Updates?

Windows 7 enterprise SP 1... I´v been having some problems with windows update. I´v had several update messages, but when I run Windows update, it stalls/freezes at some point and never gets further...

You need the “Update for Universal C Runtime in Windows”:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/k...

See https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-clou...onlaunch.html for a good explanation. I found the adobe site from https://thecomputerperson.wordpress.c...

Happy Wiresharking!

There was an issue with certain Windows updates that prevented Win 7 from installing any new ones. The solution was to manually download and install the "blockers". You'll have to Google for that.

What Windows Updates would have installed is the platform component of the Universal CRT. you can try manually installing it from here.

Okay thanks, i´ll try to google and find a solution... Actually I already tried that download... It has been searching for updates for about 1 1/2 hours now... should I let it continue searching, or should I just cancel it? What about re-installing SP 1, could that help...?

I think the Universal CRT update has prerequisites that you are missing.

When I was trying to get several Win 7 systems past the update blockage just leaving it to run never worked.

I guess you have to get past the Windows Update issue to continue.

It's likely then that it isn't up to date as that file is provided by OS updates.
