i have wireshark on mojave for my mac and the buttons at the top of the screen seen on other versions of wireshark aren't there so i can open files or edit my filters

  • retag add tags

the buttons that do not pop up are the ones at the top of the application allowing you to open a file or edit your filters but it doesn't come up for me and i am not sure if it is because i am on the latest version of OS X or because the latest version of Wireshark for some reason doesn't have it.

That's the "main toolbar". Go to the View menu and, if "Main Toolbar" doesn't have a check mark next to it, select it; that should cause the main toolbar to display.
