wireshark not able to open in external display

I am using Ubuntu 16.04

I try to open using wireshark in linux and trying to view it windows desktop.

it is failing with following error. failed to get the current screen resources wireshark: Fatal IO error 2 (No such file or directory) on X server localhost:10.0.

wireshark-gtk is able to open through same setup.

Probably a problem with the x-server. Try some other x application. https://sourceforge.net/projects/vcxsrv/

Seeing exact same with Ubuntu 18.04 X11 client and Windows Xming X11 server. Was using wireshark-gtk instead of wireshark to get around it. Switching X11 server from Xming to VcXsrv fixes the issue indeed.
