Using Wireshark in conjunction with iperf3 for throughput testing

I have an older "Wireshark Network Analysis" book published by Gerald Coombs in combination with Laura Chappell. In Chapter 28, entitled "Baselining Normal Traffic Patters", there is a subtitle "Baseline Throughput Tests" where it gives a brief overview of using iperf3 in conjunction with Wireshark to achieve the required baseline throughput testing. Has anyone in the forum used this combination, and would there be any recommendations as to how to proceed? Thanks in advance! kmnruser

The book was written by Laura as part of her teaching materials, Gerald wrote the foreword.

Without having read the book this detailed. I guess the issue is that you get a suggestion that might help you. But you have to translate that knowledge to your specific network.

As we don't have that knowledge either it is hard to indicate what might be useful in your network.

But I tend to look at cookbooks as suggestions either. Not like I need to do it exactly like that.
