Info column gets cleared about 1.5 minutes later

  • retag add tags

I am using the FIX protocol and I am using a display filter "fix" which works fine filtering the correct trafic. My problem is the useful Info column which show the message type "Logon, ExecutionResponse" etc is initially displayed but then for some reason it is cleared. New messages come in and then these get cleared about 1.5 minutes later. This seems to be a recent development as previously it worked before. I have just reinstalled Wireshark with the latest version " 2.6.1 (v2.6.1-0-g860a78b3)" Windows 64bit.

Does anyone else see a similar problem ?

Does this also happen when you load a capture file, or only during life packet capture?

Only during live capture. I reinstalled an older version (2.2.15 (v2.2.15-0-gc43eaa1b7b)) for the time being now and it is now fine. I will trying working my way up the versions to see which one it broke in if that helps ?

another which might be related now that you mention about loading files is that initially after loading a file I can see the fix message names in the info column. If I then select the "fix" display filter the info column is cleared and I have to click on the "reload this file button" to get the info column back again and that is true even with this old version.

Time for a bug report, and please include a sample capture file.

OK I will try and get some fix data which I can attach to a bug report as the files I have are all strictly confidential and I won't be allowed to send them unfortunately. Thanks for your help
