client machines does not showup

  • retag add tags

Hi, I installed wireshark on server machine and client machines are same network. I am able to connect to server from client machines. when I open wireshrak, client machines ip address does not shows up. There are options like ethernet1 , ethernet2 , adapter for lookback traffic etc.. i selected one by one to see the client ip address. none of them shows. Do I need to add any interface first, if yea can you please share the information on how to add an client interface and view the information.

Thank you for your time.

I suggest you use ipconfig /all to determine the relevant interface information. Also make sure you installed the proper capture tool during the installation of wireshark. When in doubt rerun the installer and see the status.

Thank you for your reply. I used the same exe & same method to install wireshark. One of the VM does not show any interfaces except adapter for lookback traffic. Is there any commands, I can use to see which one is blocking the interface creation on VM. Thanks.
