Why don't I see packets when I ping my own IP address?

Hello, I am really really new at using wireshark so this question will look very dumb and basic. So, I was given an homework in which I was told to use icmp filter and to ping my own ip adress. So I go to cmd to find my ip and ping it but, when I ping it, nothing appears on wireshark packet list. I tried pinging websites to test if I couldn't get any packet but I didn't get any issue at this level so the problem remains only if I ping my own ip. So, anyone now what am I missing?

Also, sorry for the poor english I mostly speak french.

When you ping your own IP address, that being the IP address of the interface you try to send to ICMP echo message from, the host will know you try to ping yourself so does not even send out a packet. At least not on the interface this IP address is assigned to. Instead it sends it over the loopback interface. Start a capture there and see what happens when you ping.
