Viewing texts sent over router

Hey guys! I know literally nothing about computers so I'm incredibly confused. I want to see text messages sent over the router in my home, and who is saying what. How on earth do I do that?

Due to the currently deployed security features, e.g. end-to-end encryption, this is impossible without penetrating the involved communication devices.
