Is it possible to emulate recordings?

  • retag add tags

So, hello to everyone! Today I have recorded through Wireshark what happens (network-wise) when throughout an iPhone application I click a button in an app which lightens my bedside table lamp. I would like to know if there was a way through Wireshark to emulate exactly what it has recorded, so that throughout the Wireshark itself I could turn on the lamp having the actions recorded on my computer. Best regards,

I think you are looking for a traffic generator tool, of which Wireshark is not.

Have a look at the Traffic Generators section of the Tools wiki page for a list of various tools that can help you.

or, if the lamp has a replay attack protection (ok, who am I kidding?), use Wireshark to reverse engineer the protocol, then write a programm that mimicks the same communication.

How can I mimic the communication? Do you know any tutorial you can link me to?
