How does Wireshark resolve Private Addresses. Sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't.

My Mac has IP 192.168.x.x. Sometimes Wireshark resolves to a logical internal name. Other times it is unable to resolve and uses the numeric. No consistency about resolving. Sometimes 15 packets and it uses the name. Other times 97k packets and it uses the numeric. What gives? I have had an intruder on the machine. Could this be an indication that he has compromised?

Name resolution process from the User's Guide - 7.9. Name Resolution

If you don't want to be at the mercy of cache timeouts or unable to resolve addresses, build a hosts file
