How to get default view back

I am a noob, and have messed up my feed somehow. It is now text only and a lot of the information is missing like 'from' 'to'. How do I undo whatever I did?

To what "feed" are you referring?

If you fresh install wireshark, and you start a capture of your local ethernet, various color coded lines representing packet traffic "feed", scroll from top to bottom, keeping pace with the traffic--that feed.

So what happens if you click on the toolbar item that shows a bunch of differently-colored lines (it'll be to the immediate left of the toolbar item that looks like a magnifying glass with a "+" in the lens of the magnifying glass)?

You need to reset your default profile. Note this will also delete any saved profiles, so you may want to copy the profile directory instead of deleting it.

Form the Wireshark Edit menu item select Configuration Profiles... Then in the dialog ensure the Default profile is selected and then click on the link above the Help button to go to the location of the profiles. Move up one directory and then delete the Wireshark directory. Close the Configuration Profiles dialog and restart Wireshark and it will create a new default profile for you.
