how to download latest wireshark version dynamically?

Hi, my organization trying to build some automation for installing the latest wireshark version as part of being up to date. the issue that we have is that we cannot automate it as there is no known URL that will allow to download the latest version with script. it forces me to check the latest version and write it in the URL. for example, Mozilla firefox provide an option to download the latest version dynamically, by using the following URL: https://download.mozilla.org/?product....

can you please provide similar URL to help the automation process?

The download site and mirrors now have links to the latest release versions, e.g. https://1.na.dl.wireshark.org/win64/ now lists Wireshark-win64-latest.exe and Wireshark-win64-latest.msi.

Or track the tags published in (a mirror of) the repository. This is how the Debian project tracks new Wireshark releases.

Can't the Wireshark PAD file be used for this purpose?

(The file is documented at https://www.wireshark.org/download.ht...)

As the requirement is to install, how about using Chocolatey to install the Wireshark package.

Upgrading is then a simple cup -y wireshark.

That may be an enhancement request - i.e., providing that URL might involve changing the way the Wireshark download sites work, rather than just telling you what the URL currently is, as there might not currently ''be'' such a URL.

And even if there is such a URL, it would need to be documented, so that would require a documentation update.

So please file an enhancement request at the Wireshark Bugzilla, so this issue can be tracked.

The enhancement has been done, as per Gerald's answer.
