I installed wireshark on my chromebook with linux beta and when I try to find packets it says "could not run usr/bin/dumpcap in child process: permission denied."

When Wireshark is installed in Linux, it creates a wireshark account group. You have to edit that group to add your account to it. Once you reboot, you'll be able to capture packets. Another example of tighter security in Linux.
