How can I enable Monitor mode within Win10 OS

Hello All,

I am using the wireshark with Npcap to capture the Air packet with radio-tag. With the same wireless device, I can capture the air packet within Win7 but not in Win10.

I try the following,

  1. Make sure there is no older wpcap.dll and packet.all before installing the npacp and wireshark.
  2. Using administrator privilege to install both application.
  3. Using Wlanhelper.exe to setup the mode
  4. check the support raw 802.11 traffic (and monitor mode) for wireless adapters when installing the npcap
  5. From Wlanhelper, the wireless interface only support Managed mode in Win10.

However, result in Win10 is always not satisfied.

Would it be possible to help how I can start for trouble shooting?

PS: here is the info I have.

Npcap: 0.996
Wireshark: 3.02

WNIC:
DWA-192, HW:A1
Version, 1030 25 701 2017
Chip, Realtek RTL8814AU

Win10:
 64bit
Ver 1709 build 16277.1087
Result Not support monitor mode

Win7:
32bit
Ver 6.1 build 7601
Result: Support Monitor mode

Sincerely,

This is an npcap issue and you'll find support over at the nmap mailing list: http://nmap.org/mailman/listinfo/dev

They also have a bug tracker here where you can raise issues.
