Can you try moving/deleting your entire Wireshark personal configuration folder contents and then launching Wireshark from scratch in a more pristine state? Perhaps there are old preferences/files that are somehow causing a problem. The personal configuration folder can be found via Help -> About Wireshark -> Personal configuration. On Windows, it's typically in %APPDATA%\Wireshark. If this doesn't help, then you can always move the files back if you decided to save them elsewhere instead of deleting them.
